Simone Biles becomes world’s most decorated gymnast with latest win

Simone Biles made history this week as the most decorated gymnast. Friday marked Biles' 21st gold medal and 27th overall at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships

his and the Olympics have given Biles 34 career medals, making her the most decorated gymnast in both men's and women's divisions.

Biles reached this goal by excelling in all events at this year's global championships. She scored 58.399 in balance beam, floor routine, vault, and uneven bars

Since returning for the U.S. Championship in August, Biles has been flawless. Her all-around win at that event gave her momentum for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Biles withdrew from numerous events at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics due to "twisties," a disorder that causes gymnasts to lose spatial awareness in the air. She is nearing an Olympic comeback.

Biles told 'Today' last month that she wanted to be on a "path" to compete in Paris. "Right now, that's the path I want to go, so I wouldn't mind if you put it in the 'yay' section," Biles said

With the women's vault and uneven bars finals this weekend, Biles will continue her preparation for the 2024 Olympics.
